This is the official Scottish residence of the British Royal family, 650 acres of parks, gardens and wilderness make up the Queen's Gardens in the heart of the City. State chambers are open to the public when the royal family are not in residence. Open for tours only from April until October 9.30am — 5.15 pm. November to March 9.30am — 4.30 pm.

Holyrood Park and Arthur Seat
The former hunting ground of the Scottish Monnarchs, the park covers 650 acroes of varied landscape including Salisbury Craggs, lochs and gorgeous open parkland. The highest point is the 251m summit of Arthur? s Seat, a long-extinct volcano.

Royal Scottish Academy
Free Admission is available to a wealth of paintings, sculptures and architectural drawings by RSA members. Temporary collections and the annual members' exhibition provide an interesting focus throughout the year.
Royal Museum of Scotland

Huge collections of decorative arts, geology, natural history and science collections, exhibiting spectacular iron and glass structure. The Museum tells Scotland 's own story: past, present, and there is a room for the future. The museum is within walking distance: walk towards the city until you come to Chamber Street (about ten blocks), turn left and walk to the top of Chamber Street .
